OWL Biscuits made with Felt
So,… I have joined a very lovely group of crafters. ^_^ Well, yes… no problem with that. We all know I am a craft addict! There will be some really fun monthly challenges coming up that I am already looking forward to!
This month… our challenge was to use FELT. Felt bits and pieces, leftovers, as main material or side element to a craft… You name it! We crafted it!
What did I make? Well… I do have another little obsession…and that is???
OOOOOOWWWWWLLLLSSS! 🙂 Anyone else?
So I proudly present to you my OWL BISCUITS made with FELT!
(…she shouts while making a list of all the ingredients for “proper” biscuits to hunt down later at the shops…)
OWL Biscuits made with Felt
Aren’t they cute? and not only can I use them as decorative “biscuits” but ornament, little teacher present or tag for Christmas presents!
It is for sure a craft your little ones can join in the fun! And THAT I love!
HOW TO:
You’ll need:
- Template (Printable for your to truely make this an easy craft experience for you.)
- Felt, different colors (0.5cm or 1/8in for owl base and then thinner felt)
- Scissors
- Wiggly Eyes (or make black pupils with felt)
- Hot glue or FELT Glue
- Decomaterials such as glitter stone stickers, “gem” stones, beads, buttons
I am adding a couple (affilliate) links in case you are out of some of the items.
STEP I:
Download and print off the template. Cut out the pieces anduse them for outlining the shapes on the felt. Then simply cut.
STEP II:
No felt really being an absolute first timer material for me I had to experiment with a variety of glues. Yes… ^_^ I do have a range but most are more paper related. In the end what worked for me was this glue for plastic and the famous hot glue gun. I have now learned that there is an adhesive especially made for felt. So that is GREAT news!
STEP III:
Time to decorate with really whatever you may find! The experimenting is quite fun and the kids enjoy this part quite a bit. Ask them if they can think of anythingelse you could use for decorating!!! (And the fun begins…lol)
We used beads, glitter stone stickers, and I thought of the 3D paint Kirarina Cute Pens I frequently us for my colorings (on paper). I was reminded of these mouthwatering little movies you can find on FB in which they decorate real cookies. Yum Yum.
